Our Story
For nearly half of a century, Rosebud Restaurants have been bringing classic Italian food to Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Each location embodies authenticity, exceptional quality, and impeccable service—hallmarks that have set the industry standard. Founded by visionary restaurateur Alex Dana, Rosebud Restaurants have built a beloved family of establishments woven into the very fabric of Chicago, reflecting a legacy that continues to shape the city’s rich cultural and culinary landscape.

When it comes to the Chicken Parmesan, this Rosebud classic has stood the test of time. A menu original, hand pressed and oven-broiled until the top is perfectly cheesy and golden and served with a side of penne pasta.

Let’s talk cannoli. 🇮🇹 Born in Sicily and once reserved for Carnevale, this rich dessert was a pre-Lenten indulgence too good to keep seasonal. Now, it’s a year-round favorite—and for good reason.
Ours are a nod to tradition with a Rosebud twist: crisp golden shells filled with ricotta, peanuts, lemon zest, and chocolate chips.

This month’s team member spotlight looks a little different as we’re excited to introduce a dynamic sister duo: Mary Kate Kenny and Leona Creamer! 🌹
Leona started her journey with Rosebud in 2014 and Mary Kate followed in 2017. Over the years, they’ve both worn many hats—from hostessing at our Walton steakhouse to working behind the scenes at @rosebudlittleitaly, @rosettaitalian, @rosebud_naperville, and @rosebud_deerfield.
Beyond their day-to-day roles, Rosebud has been part of some of their biggest milestones including celebrating birthdays, graduations, weddings, and even their dad’s retirement party. And while they don’t work together every day, you can always find them teaming up for the Taylor Street Fest each year! 🎉
As for their favorite dishes? Leona has an Eggplant Stack hack we bet you’ve never tried. Order it chopped, with avocado and she promises you won’t go back. Other favorites include fried calamari with extra lemon, skirt steak Italiano, and, of course, a slice of carrot or chocolate cake to finish.
