Columbus Day is a holiday that is close to the hearts of many Italian Americans, it’s a time to celebrate Italian heritage and culture. Every year, the Columbus Day parade is one of the biggest events in Chicago, and this year, Rosebud Restaurants was proud to participate.
The Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans announced that the 2022 parade would be honoring Angelo and Romana Caputo.
We joined the parade with a float featuring colors from the Italian flag and celebrating Chicago’s Italian American community. As the float made its way down the parade route, accompanied by the sounds of Chicago’s favorite Italian American performers, it was greeted with cheers and smiles from the crowd, and shouts of “We love your Chicken Parm!”
It was a great way to celebrate Columbus Day and come together as a city to show support for the Italian American community.
Next year is a big year for Alex Dana and Rosebud Restaurants as it marks the 50th anniversary of Dana’s career as a restauranteur. This milestone represents 50 years of sharing classic, Italian recipes and traditions with Chicago, and the beautiful memories that come along with it.
We are already looking forward to next year’s Columbus Day celebrations, and we hope to make it even bigger and better than this year’s.
